OrMe: Ortica Memoria

The association OrMe – Ortica Memoria has created Milan's first open-air museum in the historic Ortica district. An artistic and multimedia urban regeneration project, with 20 murals, created by the Orticanoodles collective together with citizens, schools and associations, accompanied by maps, apps, guides and a lively and creative communication activity aimed at making the history of Milan known to all and spreading the value of Memory. A museum accessible to all and free of charge.

With the contribution of Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza, the OrMe association will strengthen the communication of the project, continue the process of digitisation of the works, starting with the renewal of the website, and enrich the programming and communication of the activities of the new SanFasutino5 socio-cultural centre. Furthermore, in order to welcome the increasing number of groups of citizens and tourists visiting Ortica, the OrMe association will enhance its activities by placing QR codes on the murals in order to make the individual works and the history of Milan and the 20th century known. The funds will also make it possible to renew the Guide to Milan's first open-air museum produced by the OrMe association and to print new copies, create maps, tours and produce materials for projects with schools.

The OrMe association is also carrying out projects outside of Ortica through the tool of participatory art, with the aim of creating moments of community, to involve, raise awareness and spread the memory of places in Milan.
