Italia Brilla: Il Cielo Itinerante
The non-profit association that ‘takes the sky where it cannot be seen"

With a minibus loaded with experiments and telescopes, Il Cielo Itinerante offers children living in areas with educational gaps the possibility of unprecedented exposure to the wonders of science and space. The Association considers the understanding of the language of mathematics and science an essential condition for an inclusive society of equal opportunities.
After winning the cash prize in 2023, Il Cielo Itinerante within the ‘Italia Brilla’ project set itself the goal of travelling the peninsula from North to South in four months. The association has identified action areas, thanks to the results of the Invalsi Tests, in which to organise interactive workshops and astronomical observations. The aim is to offer all children the opportunity to become passionate about scientific subjects and at the same time offer a projection of themselves beyond the socio-economic context.
In 2023, the Italia Brilla by Il Cielo Itinerante reached its goal: it travelled through 30 municipalities, involving more than 800 children in just 4 months.
Thanks to the award from Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza, Il Cielo Itinerante was able to manage areas of organisation such as: the creation and updating of digital channels such as the website and social networks and the creation and updating of communication supports. Branding and communication activities enabled the association to reach an additional 5,000 followers from September to November.
Specifically, the contribution managed to bring the sky where it doesn't reach in November, at the Maria Letizia Verga Centre in Monza and within the Maestrale Festival in Milan.
