With his will Giovanni Querini Stampalia founded an institution to which he entrusted the task of ‘promoting the worship of good studies, and useful disciplines’. Even today this is still the mission of the Foundation, which mainly focuses on the education and development of the individual. Carlo Scarpa renovated its ground floor and garden in 1959.
