Associazione Stupor Mundi
The Stupor Mundi Association promotes cultural initiatives dedicated to highlighting the historical, artistic, and architectural heritage, with a particular focus on Sicilian Baroque sites and the dialogue between tradition and the contemporary world. Through exhibition projects, events, and collaborations with institutions, universities, and cultural organizations, the association fosters the dissemination of design culture and the rediscovery of heritage as a resource for regional development.
Among its main initiatives, the Festival Barocco & Neobarocco transforms the historic center of Ragusa Ibla—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—into a space for dialogue between art, architecture, design, and contemporary research. Historic palaces, churches, and public spaces host installations, exhibitions, and artistic interventions that offer new interpretations of the Baroque language, connecting the monumental heritage with the creativity of the present.
The association’s activities involve artists, designers, students, companies, and Italian and international cultural organizations, fostering collaborative projects that highlight the region’s materials, knowledge, and identities. Through the dialogue between heritage and innovation, Stupor Mundi helps strengthen the role of culture as a tool for urban regeneration, civic engagement, and landscape enhancement.
