Pirandello's house

Casa Pirandello

A large rural house built at the end of the 18th century that has been home to the Pirandello family for three generations. It stands ‘overlooking the edges of a plateau of blue clays on the African sea’ in a district of Agrigento called, with great evocative flavour, ‘Chaos’. The museum, set up on the first floor of the house, hosts temporary exhibitions dedicated to the Maestro and, permanently, a vast collection of memorabilia, photographs, letters, reviews, honours, first-edition books with autograph dedications, paintings and posters of Pirandello's most famous works. The house has been refurbished and equipped with new multimedia devices that tell the story of the life and work of the great Sicilian, Nobel Prize winner who ‘innovated the art of drama’.
