SlowMachine
Storytelling to break fear. Since 2015, SlowMachine has managed Hangar 11, a disused space inside the former Piave barracks, but continues to move its shows between Veneto and Emilia. It is a project with a strong innovative character that focuses on the idea of contamination between the arts and between people. Their shows often start from the need for intimate, personal storytelling, from the need to speak in order to break through fears. Cultural superstructures often prevent direct contact between people, for example, about a new country or a new job. Video interaction and stage action gives the actors the opportunity to address these often personal stories with greater care and delicacy. Rajeev Badhan and Elena Strada at the end of the performance, in a real after-stage, open a dialogue with the audience on the themes of identity, travel, abandonment and welcome: theatre as an encounter.
