The warrior king of Capestrano
The warrior with the big hat. In the National Museum of Archaeology in Chieti, one of the masterpieces of our national history is kept. It is a symbolic statue of great height, two metres and ten, with a large round headdress that tells the story of the Picenian warriors. Dating back to the 6th century BC, it is surprisingly intact and shows a unique attention to detail considering contemporary works. The statue represents a constitutive trait of Italic identity before Rome spread throughout these territories.
