Adelaide: 200 years on the scene
The living archive of an unknown star. The project aims to rediscover the world's first great Italian actress, Adelaide Ristori (1822-1906), on the bicentenary of her birth. An icon of her time, an example of female emancipation, an extraordinarily talented performer, a skilled entrepreneur, a creator of fabulous costumes, Ristori represents the beauty of the great Italian acting tradition, capable of conquering audiences in every latitude, despite language barriers. The project includes an exhibition, a conference and the performance Lady Macbeth, the theatrical adaptation that Davide Carcano designed on the figure of Ristori, directed by Davide Livermore. The project represents an unprecedented model of multi-media valorisation of an immense archive fund and also envisages the digitisation of inventories and files. Visit the site.
