The CESRAM
The Center for Marine Environment Studies and Research (CESRAM) is a social promotion association founded in Calabria in 2010 to promote the protection and enhancement of marine and coastal ecosystems through scientific research, environmental education, and public outreach. Active at the regional, national, and international levels, the Center collaborates with universities, public agencies, and scientific institutions to develop environmental monitoring programs, with a particular focus on marine biodiversity and the conservation of cetaceans in the Ionian Sea.
In addition to its research activities, CESRAM promotes training courses, educational workshops, citizen science initiatives, and environmental education programs aimed at schools, families, and the general public, with the goal of raising awareness about the value of our natural heritage. Among its main initiatives is MUDIMAR—the Soverato Educational Museum of the Sea—a space dedicated to understanding marine biodiversity and scientific outreach, offering inclusive activities and educational tools for audiences of all ages. Through an approach that combines research, education, and participation, CESRAM helps strengthen the bond between the community and the marine environment, promoting a culture of sustainability and environmental protection.
