Concorto Film Festival

The Concorto Film Festival is one of Italy’s most important festivals dedicated to international short films. Founded in 2002 in Pontenure, in the province of Piacenza, over the course of 24 years it has grown to become a recognized event on the European short film scene, while maintaining a strong connection to the local area and community.

Every summer, Parco Raggio—the town’s historic green space—is transformed into an open-air cinema, hosting eight days of screenings, premieres, meetings, talks, concerts, exhibitions, installations, immersive experiences, and activities for children and teens. The Festival complements its film program with film education initiatives, workshops, and training opportunities, creating an experience tailored to diverse audiences and the younger generations.

Concorto’s strength also lies in its ability to combine the international dimension of cinema with deep roots in the local area: filmmakers and professionals from around the world meet the residents of Pontenure and Piacenza, while the Festival helps visitors discover local places, activities, and cultural life. Approximately 70 volunteers from all over Italy participate in the event each year, contributing to its organization and embarking on a journey of personal and professional growth.
