Foundation Milan Civic Schools

Fondazione Milano Scuole Civiche was founded and supported by the Municipality of Milan, it comprises four Schools of Higher Education, patrimonthe city's historical and cultural centre -Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado, Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti, Civica Scuola Interpreti e Traduttori Altiero Spinelli - which have trained generations of leading figures of the Italian cultural scene.
Fondazione Milano Scuole Civiche trains professionals in film, music, theatre, dance, languages and international relations. Today it is a university centre that offers 63 three-year and 26 master's degree courses, alongside specialised master courses, master classes and intensive, preparatory and basic courses.
Around 3,000 students study at its 7 locations in Milan. The Fondazione Milano Scuole Civiche also promotes the dissemination of culture through open educational events, meetings, competitions, shows, concerts and film screenings, in constant liaison with the territory's most important cultural institutions.
The year 2026 will bring great news for the Foundation, which will be assigned new premises designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop as part of the regeneration of the Bovisa Goccia area. A space for creativity and innovation that will favour the development of didactics, opening up new areas of research under the banner of synergy and contamination between the disciplines that have historically characterised the educational offer.
