Giffoni Film Festival
The Giffoni film festival was born in 1971 from an idea of Claudio Gubitosi, then a young film enthusiast, in a country not blessed with sea air and no particular virtues. Today it has a tally of 350,000 young people who have arrived over 15 years for the days of cinema together with the world's major players (from Francois Truffaut to Robert de Niro, from Wim Wenders to Meryl Streep). Today it has a special international section that manages the many copies of this festival made around the world (Giffoni Voyager). During the days of the festival, a team of young people, under the age of thirty, who come from all over the world (Giffoni Opportunity), supported by various international companies, meet in the small town in Campania to imagine and develop creative and innovative projects about our future. The festival has one secret that has made it great: the enthusiasm and participation of young people, in all age groups, as jurors and volunteers. Today the GFF is a brand and a business, a cultural enterprise that employs dozens of young people full time.
