Jago's Museum
The administration of Naples has announced an ambitious and widespread programme of public art and exhibitions that will bring contemporary languages to the benefit of the Neapolitan capital, for the enhancement of the tourist system, but even more so with the intention of regenerating the city for the benefit of those who live it every day. Also, Naples is getting ready for an important debut, which will make the city a new artistic 'pilgrimage' destination.
Presenting it is Jago, born Jacopo Cardillo, a marble sculptor and great communicator of himself and his art. Having trained as a self-taught artist, the artist has recently been the protagonist of highly successful exhibitions, from the first one-man show organised in Rome to the group show in Bologna: Jago, Banksy, TvBoy. In Naples, he chose to set up his studio in the Baroque church of Sant'Aspreno ai Crociferi (named after the first bishop of Naples), at the entrance to Borgo dei Vergini, in the Sanità district. Because, he says, 'In the neighbourhood there is the future, there is fertile ground and creativity'.
