The Branda Castiglioni Museum
An Tuscan island in Lombardy. Nestled in the old village of Castiglione Olona, set among ancient buildings, the museum is inside Palazzo Branda. In addition to frescoes by Masolino da Panicale and Vecchietta, it houses furniture and furnishings from the Renaissance period. Castiglione Olona is a small and secret ideal city built in the province of Varese between the 14th and 15th centuries at the behest of Cardinal Branda Castiglioni, who was a politician, a diplomat and a great humanist.
