The Capitolare di Verona Library
The oldest library in the same place ever. A wonderful environment full of history and full of books. 70,000 volumes preserved in all adversity and against all weathers. And among the papers the famous Veronese riddle, the first document ‘in the vernacular’ of the Italian language, but also the ‘institutions’ of Gaius, a fundamental work of Roman law. Today, with its 1,600 years of history and with the help of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, the library opens its halls and cloisters to a wider public, with particular attention to young people and students. Thanks also to the communication activity and the rebranding operation, it wants to develop new initiatives to make the great and peaceful atmosphere in its halls and treasures known to many.
