The Fondazione Piero Cattaneo
The Fondazione Piero Cattaneo ETS was established in Bergamo with the goal of promoting and highlighting the work of sculptor Piero Cattaneo, while contributing to the study and dissemination of 20th-century Italian sculpture and contemporary artistic expressions. Through research, conservation, outreach, and education, the Foundation serves as a meeting point between memory and innovation, fostering dialogue between the artistic heritage of the last century and the creative practices of the present.
Over the years, it has developed a comprehensive program of exhibitions, educational activities, guided tours, workshops, and cultural initiatives aimed at audiences of all ages, with a particular focus on accessibility and participation. Among the projects that define its work is “Officina della Scultura,” a widespread initiative that opens artists’ studios, archives, and artistic production sites to the public, offering the opportunity to gain an up-close understanding of the creative processes and the tangible and intangible heritage associated with Italian sculpture.
The Foundation works in partnership with cultural institutions, schools, universities, research organizations, and local entities, fostering collaborations that reinforce the social value of art as a tool for knowledge, inclusion, and collective growth. By highlighting artists’ studios and developing shared cultural initiatives, it helps make a heritage that is often little known accessible, fostering an active relationship between places, communities, and new generations.
