Borghi dei Tesori Fest
A Proud Sicily. The project intends to narrate, film, promote, and open to the public the heritage of Sicilian villages, counteracting their depopulation and training 500 young people to become host communities. More than 250 places and experiences (castles, churches, mining parks, aristocratic palaces, craftsmen's workshops, laboratories of excellent productions, nature trails, artists' ateliers) will constitute for the first time a widespread museum that the Foundation has integrated into an active network. This network gives life to Borghi dei Tesori Fest, an initiative that in two summer weeks, in August and September, showcases these villages through festivals, concerts, events and guided tours. The 2021 edition was attended by 59 municipalities that opened the gates of their small/large treasures and realised ad hoc initiatives for the festival. Participating communities are also involved in a contest to choose three small restoration/regeneration projects supported by the Foundation and its partners.
