Venice Tap Water
Venice Tap Water is an initiative created to promote a new culture of public water, encouraging a more mindful use of resources and helping to reduce single-use plastic by promoting tap water. Developed within the unique context of the city of Venice, the project combines environmental sustainability, digital innovation, and civic awareness, proposing a model for the use of urban space based on accessibility, shared responsibility, and care for the commons.
Through digital tools, communication activities, and informational programs aimed at residents and visitors, Venice Tap Water makes it easier to locate and use public drinking fountains, inviting people to rediscover this everyday infrastructure as an integral part of the urban heritage and quality of life. Water thus becomes not only an essential resource but also an element capable of illustrating the relationship between the city, the environment, and the community.
The initiative promotes a vision of sustainability based on simple, replicable actions, encouraging responsible behavior and greater awareness of the value of shared resources. Building on the experience of Venice, Venice Tap Water proposes a model that combines environmental protection, civic participation, and civic culture, demonstrating how even everyday practices can contribute to building more sustainable and inclusive cities.
