The ADI Design Museum
The ADI Design Museum in Milan is dedicated to promoting Italian design and its history. Founded to preserve and showcase the Historical Collection of the Compasso d’Oro—the oldest and most prestigious international design award—it serves as a meeting point for heritage, research, and design culture, offering the public an exhibition that traces the evolution of Italian design through objects, documents, archives, and temporary exhibitions.
Sponsored by ADI—the Association for Industrial Design—the museum interprets design as a discipline capable of influencing quality of life, innovation, and the country’s cultural and social development. Alongside its permanent collection, it offers a rich program of exhibitions, events, educational activities, and in-depth explorations dedicated to various fields of contemporary design, fostering dialogue among professionals, institutions, businesses, students, and citizens.
The ADI Design Museum is also a space open to international dialogue on the themes of visual culture, sustainability, inclusion, and innovation, hosting initiatives that involve leading figures in design, graphic design, architecture, and communication. In this way, it helps spread the culture of design to an ever-wider audience and consolidate Milan’s role as the international capital of design.
