The Associazione GruCA ETS
The Associazione GruCA ETS promotes the preservation of cultural heritage and community participation through projects dedicated to the protection, management, and storytelling of places of memory. Its activities are centered around the Villa Ficana Earthen Houses Ecomuseum in Macerata, a rare historic village built of rammed earth—a testament to a traditional building technique that represents a heritage of great architectural and cultural value.
The Ecomuseum interprets heritage as a shared asset, to be experienced and passed on through the direct involvement of the community. Tours, educational activities, workshops, cultural initiatives, and local discovery tours help highlight not only the village’s architecture but also the stories, knowledge, and relationships that define its identity. In this spirit, residents, volunteers, and organizations actively participate in the care and promotion of the site.
Through ongoing collaboration with institutions, cultural networks, and local organizations, GruCA ETS helps strengthen the Ecomuseum’s role as a space for gathering, research, and participation. This approach to heritage preservation centers on both tangible and intangible heritage, fostering informed engagement and a lasting relationship between culture, community, and the local area.
