Casa di Gesso

Casa di gesso is space where children and young adults can experience different practices of theatrical art and technique. It is a significnat space for community and the territory, where one can experience worlds made of stories, rehearsals and staging, reading and writing, musicality, dance, scenic arts and lots of play! The project is curated by Aidoru Associazione Aps, a Cesena-based company active since 2002 in the cultural sphere, which deals with productions and didactics for children in the fields of sensorial and participatory theatre, scenic arts and urban regeneration practices. The project realised by Pier Currà Architettura includes: a theatre hall and an open-air arena where one can play and perform; the atelier for the performing arts; the library to discover new worlds and know how to rewrite them; a rehearsal space to host artists, experts and collaborators; the garden with its vegetable garden, trees and its blossoms; and the many reception and play environments that the Casa di Gesso team designed and planned. The space that has taken shape in the green countryside of Cesena is inhabited by the annual theatre and performing arts school aimed at children and young people aged 4 to 14 and then, little by little, it will open up to the city and build together new paths of theatre, sociality and culture so that the beauty of theatre can become a means of generating inclusion, empathy, creativity and participation.
