Casa Macchi
Casa Macchi is one of the many meritorious works of the FAI organization. Casa Macchi is an example of a manor house of the Lombardy bourgeoisie, a small old world with all its furnishings intact, accumulated from the late 19th century to the early decades of the 20th century. The FAI inherited it from the last descendant of the Maria Luisa family; the house has been empty for more than fifty years. It was impeccably restored and opened to the public in 2022. In the body of the house on the street is a small emporium, which is also the entrance, where food and objects with an antique flavour are sold: chinottos, candies, linens and old lavenders. Marco Magnifico has said: "The unspoilt world in which three generations of an ordinary wealthy but not rich middle-class family lived, where thrift was a dowry to be cherished as well as those rhythms and traditions that were the characteristics of an industrious Italy that, without clamour but thanks to the perseverance and heroism of its children, became a Nation".
