Davide Furno and the art of ceroplasty

IMG 20220618 WA0001 min

Davide Furno is a true master of wax. Recovering an ancient and completely forgotten technique, he was the first in Italy to give new life and dignity to ceroplastics: a discipline that, with the help of waxes, natural resins, plaster and powders, gives life to flowers and fruit that he knows how to combine in extraordinary compositions. With this process, and thanks to secret recipes learnt during years of study, research and experimentation, he is able to create true masterpieces of refined and hyper-realistic still life that can make every object he touches magical and poetic. He came across by chance in his study of wax fruits practically forgotten on the shelves of the Faculty of Agriculture in Turin, hundreds of breathtakingly beautiful fruits, and decided that reconstructing that technique would be the passion of his life. Today he reproduces precious objects in wax for collectors, botanical gardens and museums.
