Martesana Ecomuseum
Martesana Ecomuseum is aproject aimed at enhancing the region that promotes awareness of the cultural, landscape, and social heritage of the Adda Martesana area, east of Milan. By engaging citizens, associations, businesses, and institutions, the Ecomuseum showcases a region rich in history, traditions, waterways, farmhouses, and examples of local heritage.
Its activities include cultural initiatives, discovery tours, educational projects, and events that bring communities and visitors together, fostering a mindful appreciation of the places and their identities. The Ecomuseum’s participatory approach helps build a network of collaborations capable of highlighting local excellence and strengthening a sense of belonging to the region.
Among the initiatives it promotes, the Martesana Festival celebrates the cultural, culinary, and community heritage of the Martesana region through gatherings, workshops, music, and moments of conviviality. Conceived as a traveling event, the Festival helps showcase the richness of the 27 municipalities of the Adda Martesana, promoting local tourism that is attentive to people, places, and traditions.
