Fa.R.M. – Fabbrica dei Racconti e della Memoria

Fa.R.M. – Fabbrica dei Racconti e della Memoria is a cultural organization born from the convergence of theater, writing, music, education, and communication, with the goal of creating new ways of telling stories and bringing diverse audiences closer to the performing arts.

Fa.R.M.’s work is based on the idea that theater can be a tool for connection and understanding capable of transcending the barriers of traditional cultural spaces. Through performances, educational programs, workshops, and storytelling projects, the organization fosters direct encounters between artists, communities, and citizens, celebrating individual and collective stories as a shared heritage.

Among its most representative initiatives is InSuburbia [Theater], a traveling festival that, since 2021, has been bringing theater to the courtyards of public housing complexes, gardens, and public spaces in the suburbs of Florence and neighboring municipalities. The project stems from a desire not to wait for people to come to the theater, but to bring the theater to the places where daily life unfolds, thereby engaging even those who do not typically frequent cultural venues. The festival is characterized by free admission, accessibility, and a focus on participation, with performances translated into Italian Sign Language (LIS) and tools designed to broaden audience engagement.

Through an open and inclusive artistic language, Fa.R.M. helps transform urban spaces into places of encounter and sharing, demonstrating how culture can generate new forms of community and strengthen the bond between people and their local areas.
