The Festival del Medioevo
Founded in 2015 in Gubbio, the Festival del Medioevo is an event dedicated to the rediscovery and dissemination of medieval history through a program that combines scientific research, entertainment, and public participation. Every year, scholars, historians, archaeologists, popularizers, and leading figures from the Italian cultural scene come together to explore the Middle Ages from different perspectives, offering the public opportunities for in-depth learning and discussion.
Lectures, exhibitions, workshops, reenactments, educational activities, and family-friendly events transform Gubbio into a meeting place where past and present converge, highlighting the city’s historical and architectural heritage and its deep connection to the Middle Ages.
The Festival promotes accessible yet rigorous historical knowledge, engaging a diverse audience and contributing to the cultural and tourism growth of the region. Thanks to an approach that blends public outreach, research, and the promotion of local sites, it is now one of Italy’s leading events dedicated to medieval culture.
