The Fondazione Museo della Scuola Grande di San Marco e della Sanità showcases a historical, artistic, and scientific heritage linked to the centuries-old Venetian tradition of care, knowledge, and solidarity. Housed within the historic Scuola Grande di San Marco—one of the most important buildings of the Venetian Renaissance—the museum explores the relationship between art, medicine, and care through collections, monumental spaces, and artifacts that bring to life the history of an institution founded to serve the community.
Through guided tours, cultural activities, and outreach initiatives, the Foundation promotes awareness of a heritage that intertwines civic history, medical practice, and the culture of beauty. The Museum serves as a meeting place between memory and the present, fostering open and participatory engagement and strengthening the bond between cultural heritage and collective well-being. In dialogue with the local community and Venice’s cultural institutions, the Foundation helps keep alive a tradition in which care becomes a cultural value and a means of connecting with the community.
