Le vie dei Medici
Walking in the Renaissance. It is the idea of imagining the territory over which the Medici, the powerful Italian family of the Renaissance, ruled, as an en plein air route, a diffuse museum, made up of villas, monuments, but also of white roads, still uncontaminated, that connect the places of history. Conceived and curated by Patrizia Vezzosi, the itinerary proposes to connect the many sites linked to this history and to develop the competitive identity of Tuscany and Romagna on three themes: the universal value of cultural heritage, community participation and integration, and the Italian Renaissance as a model of sustainable development. The idea is to make a vast culture grow around the Medici history that discovers and valorises what the territory has produced in its history, both tangible and intangible assets, and by leveraging on this great heritage to trigger a dialogue between generations and activate the collective intelligence of the communities, even the most distant ones, by summoning to Tuscany also those territories on which the cultural and financial activity of the Medici has shed its light: from Hungary to Poland, to the Baltic countries.
