Museum-Foundation Pino Pascali

Atlas of Beauty /
ArtEventCourses, Training
The Pascali Foundation, which looks out to the sea through large windows and tall white rooms, since 2012 houses the works of one of the most interesting arte povera artists: Pino Pascali. A multifaceted and talented artist, he died in 1968 at the age of only 35. A large bequest of his works from his family forms the founding nucleus of the museum. Alongside these works, the museum has an intense activity of art exhibitions, residencies for artists on the themes of multimedia and workshops for schools. The 'Cetacean's Tail' created by Pascali in 1966 is the symbol of this activity. In 2012, with the contribution of the municipality and the region, the Foundation moved into a former slaughterhouse overlooking the sea: the house by the sea that the artist had dreamed of and imagined for so long. In 2013, the Foundation won an award as the best contemporary art foundation in Italy.
