Pistoia Musei
Pistoia Musei is the mainmuseum complex in the city of Pistoia, a widespread cultural network that brings together four exhibition venues dedicated to showcasing the historical, artistic, and contemporary heritage of the region. Created to promote awareness of Pistoia’s history and culture, the museum offers itineraries that bring works of art, architecture, and artifacts from different eras into dialogue with one another.
The collections of ancient and contemporary art, together with a comprehensive program of exhibitions, cultural activities, and initiatives aimed at diverse audiences, make Pistoia Musei a place for research, outreach, and engagement. The exhibition itinerary guides visitors on a journey of discovery into the city’s identity, weaving together historical memory and contemporary expressions.
Among the most significant sites in the museum system is theAntico Palazzo dei Vescovi, a historic building in the heart of Pistoia that houses important archaeological and architectural artifacts. Its reopening and revitalization enrich the museum’s cultural offerings, creating new ways to engage with the collection through innovative tools and experiences that bring the public closer to the city’s heritage.
Through its ability to combine conservation, research, and new forms of communication, Pistoia Musei helps strengthen the city’s role as an open and contemporary cultural destination.
