Prospettive

In Emilia-Romagna, “Prospettive” is an artist-in-residence program launched in 2020 by Adiacenze APS to bring contemporary art out of its usual venues and into the local communities. Various municipalities thus become spaces for research and experimentation, where artists and communities come together to observe these places from new perspectives and imagine their future together.

Each edition begins with a theme that serves as a lens through which to view the local area. Artists spend time in residence, learning about the history and characteristics of the places, meeting residents, and developing a body of work that may take the form of artworks, installations, performances, or other interventions born from dialogue with the community. The process concludes with a public presentation, bringing the work back to the place that inspired it.

Over the years, Prospettive has involved seven municipalities in Emilia-Romagna and 21 artists, building a network that connects diverse realities and highlights local identities through the lens of art. The project thus allows for the rediscovery of places, memories, and everyday transformations, while also giving a voice to those who live in these areas.

Prospettive is a way to view a territory with fresh eyes: to let art enter the life of these places, listen to the communities, and transform what is familiar into something to observe, recount, and imagine anew.
