Ragusa Foto Festival
Ragusa Foto Festival is an event dedicated to contemporary photography that, since 2012, has transformed the city of Ragusa into a meeting place for photographers, artists, scholars, enthusiasts, and the general public. Organized by theAntiruggine Cultural Association, the Festival explores themes related to contemporary society each year through exhibitions, artist residencies, talks, and educational activities, highlighting photography as a language of research, memory, and interpretation of the present.
Over the course of its editions, the Festival has hosted photographers from both national and international backgrounds, fostering an ongoing dialogue between Sicily and the Mediterranean region. The program intertwines artistic production, cultural reflection, and education, offering opportunities for exchange among professionals, emerging artists, and local communities.
More than just an exhibition series, the Ragusa Foto Festival is a cultural platform that promotes photography as a tool for understanding and connecting with places. Through the work of the Antiruggine Association, the Festival helps strengthen the role of contemporary culture in enhancing the region, fostering new connections between heritage, landscape, and artistic exploration.
