Poetic renaissance
The Poetic Renaissance is a movement founded by poet Paolo Gambi. Its aim is to create spaces for anyone to express themselves in poetry, without barriers of nationality, gender, political opinion, religion or anything else. The movement is inspired by Walt Whitman's verses “The great show goes on/ and you can contribute a verse”, with the idea, taken from authors such as Dostoyevsky and Borges, that poetry, through beauty, can save the world.
The movement was born in 2020 and in just a few years has become one of the most significant poetic realities in Italy. Structured throughout the territory in a network of volunteers, it organises dozens of events in significant locations, from the Milan Triennale to the lucani towns, from Piazza San Marco to Sicily.
