The Salina's red house
In the district of Pollara, a sunny, arid road descends to the sea and leads to the Casa del Postino. A memorable film based on a text by Antonio Skarmeta that tells the same story on the windy shores and murmuring sea of Isla Negra, deep in Chile, where Neruda had his home. Massimo Troisi's last film, who by then was already very ill, transports this story of love and education to the middle of the Mediterranean, keeping it believable and in its own way true.
