The golden bronzes in Cartoceto

The Golden Knights. The museum, housed in the 14th-century former Convent of St. James, exhibits the world's unique and beautiful group of gilded bronze statues from the Roman era. The bronzes, found in fragments in the fields in 1946 (nine quintals), reassembled, make a fine display in the vast hall built with state-of-the-art technological solutions, in which an ‘air curtain’ ensures the ideal microclimate for the preservation of these unique statues. There one can admire the two female figures, the two horsemen in high-ranking military dress and two richly ornamented horses. Visit the website
