The Viali di Pace in Collegno
The Viali di Pace (The Paths of Peace) are a path of remembrance and participation within the General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa Park in Collegno, a site created through the transformation of the former psychiatric hospital and now a public space dedicated to gathering, culture, and building a more aware community. In an area deeply marked by history, the project restores centrality to the values of peace, human rights, and dialogue, transforming the urban landscape into a tool for knowledge and reflection.
Through a network of sites, pathways, and testimonies, the Paths of Peace connect experiences dedicated to remembrance, inclusion, and solidarity—including the Italian Peace Museum-Workshop and the Boat of Migrations—fostering open dialogue on the themes of migration, coexistence, and global citizenship. The route invites citizens, schools, and visitors to experience the park as an educational and participatory space, where the history of the area meets the challenges of the present.
The Viali di Pace exemplify how the regeneration of public spaces can generate new collective meanings, transforming a site from the past into a shared heritage. Through cultural and educational initiatives, the project promotes a culture of peace in everyday life, capable of engaging local communities and new audiences in a journey of learning, dialogue, and responsibility.
