Zones Portuaires: approdi d'arte e di cultura
Zones Portuaires, an interdisciplinary project dedicated to port cities, which promotes encounters and exchanges between urban space and the world beyond the customs belts, with the aim of contributing to the confrontation between city and port in order to strengthen the link between two realities that have become distant in the industrial phase of the development of port activities.
Born in Marseille in 2008, since 2015 Zones Portuaires has also landed in Saint-Nazaire, on the Atlantic, and in Genoa. In the city of the Lantern, the festival has evolved into a wide-ranging and ongoing project, configuring itself as a device that activates collaborative research paths between art and science, through an approach that involves the port communities in all stages of co-design. The port identity is unveiled to the city's inhabitants and tourists through the extraordinary opening to the public of normally inaccessible operating sites, where the life of the port is enhanced through explorations, navigations, art installations, performances, conferences, meetings, exhibitions. The contamination between events and languages stimulates the interest of a vast and differentiated public, including citizens and visitors of all ages and backgrounds, and triggers new dynamics of interaction between different communities and between public and private entities.
