Bovisa Arte Urbana
BAU Museum – Bovisa Arte Urbana is a distributed digital museum dedicated to street art and the contemporary history of Milan’s Bovisa neighborhood. Launched in 2025 as an initiative of the AAA Collective, in collaboration with other local organizations, the project documents and highlights the neighborhood’s urban art heritage, telling the story not only of its walls and artworks, but also of the people, stories, and transformations that define its identity.
More than just a digital archive, BAU interprets the museum as an open, participatory space capable of creating new opportunities for art and the community to come together. In addition to mapping the artworks, it organizes guided tours, labs, workshops, contests, and activities aimed primarily at younger generations, engaging artists, residents, and organizations in a shared effort to enhance the neighborhood.
The museum offers a vision of urban art as a living heritage, in constant evolution, and of Bovisa as a neighborhood to be explored through creativity, participation, and dialogue. It is a project that combines research, cultural promotion, and social engagement, helping to build new narratives about one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods.
