Campo Aperto
Campo Aperto is a contemporary art project that brings the historic center of Genoa to life through a program of exhibitions, installations, and artistic interventions dedicated to experimentation and dialogue with the local community. Based at the Campo XS exhibition space, overlooking Piazza del Campo, it promotes contemporary artistic research while highlighting one of the most significant sites in the city’s urban fabric.
The project involves curators and artists from Italy and abroad, fostering the creation of new works and opportunities for dialogue among different artistic languages, disciplines, and audiences. The exhibition program is complemented by participatory initiatives that connect art, community, and social inclusion, creating opportunities for education and engagement for younger generations.
Through an ongoing program, Campo Aperto helps make contemporary art a tool for cultural regeneration and the revitalization of Genoa’s historic center. It is a place where creativity, exploration, and participation converge, strengthening the dialogue between urban heritage and contemporary artistic practices.
