MAP The Pilgrim Museum
The discovery of an ancient Roman structure destined for hospitality (a post station) gave rise to a project which today welcomes trekkers and all those who love walking; to all those travellers who have been moving to reach Rome since ancient times. The Pilgrim's Museum is built around a beautiful Roman pool in Campagnano. It is one of the last stops on the Via Francigena that led from England to Rome. Through archaeological finds in the area, the exhibition tells the story of the ancient routes and encourages the love of walking. The Superintendency of Archaeological Heritage has donated travel flasks and lucky charm amulets to the museum to help with the journey.
