Metaponto
This is a project to enhance the material and immaterial historical-archaeological wealth of the Bernalda - Metaponto municipality.
Local institutions have launched an intense diplomatic action of an international nature, with the aim of enhancing the theme of Magna Graecia, highlighting the most illustrious personality of this incredible territory: Pythagoras, who was born in Samos and died in Metapontum, the place where he lived and taught for about 20 years. The history, the twinning with Samos and the centrality of the Mediterranean as a crossroads of cultures are the solid foundations for the creation of an identity that made the candidature of Metapontum as a Unesco site possible.
