Mu.MA - Sea and Migration Museum

Mu.MA, Istituzione Musei del Mare e delle Migrazioni was founded in 2005. The region boasts a high concentration of institutions that tell the story of maritime culture, such as the Roman Naval Museum in Alberga, the Naval Museum in La Spezia, and the Galata Museo del Mare in Genoa, the largest maritime museum in the Mediterranean. Mu.MA has already activated numerous synergies on a national and international level. The context is strengthened by the work carried out in 2022 by the Liguria Regional Coordination of the International Council of Museums Italia (ICOM), an international organisation associated with UNESCO and a consultative body to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
