Palimenti urban park in Pietragalla: memory and culture of doing

The parco dei palmenti consists of a set of structures built from the 19th century onwards in the form of rupestrian architecture, for winemaking. Inside, one can still see the tanks where the grapes were crushed before the wine was transported to the cellars.
Located in the historic town centre on the hill at the end of a dense network of alleyways in the medieval village, recently renovated, the rooms, the green roofing, and the small, sinuous entrances make these structures a fairy-tale like place.
The Palmenti di Pietragalla are a singular testimony to winemaking traditions and knowledge that are to be protected and handed down.
