Plart, plastic as art
Maria Pia Incutti, entrepreneur, collector, is a practical visionary and decided to found Plart in Naples, a museum where plastic, which is so badly talked about, meets art and is ennobled. The Incutti - Paliotto collection counts more than two thousand artefacts, and has gradually grown through donations from various collectors. Previously all these objects lay in a warehouse, but now they are on display in a museum dedicated to them, in the centre of Naples in an old aristocratic palace on Via Chiaia, a sophisticated collection that does not yield to fashion but passionately traverses the entire history of contemporary art and design. Francesco Dalisi's Ballerinas and Franco Mello's Tavolo-Erba are part of the colletction, but the museum also gathers extraordinary pieces of a more industrial nature, pieces that have made the history of radical Italian design and furnishing accessories. Today, Plart's intention is to split into two, opening a new space in Turin with a strong vocation, thanks to the contribution of Capwere lab, for multimedia.
