A light between the holidays. The candle market fair takes place for seven days between the end of November and the beginning of December. Twice each night, electricity is switched off completely throughout the city, which is then lit only by the lights of a thousand candles for a quarter of an hour. Candles are everywhere: on windowsills, balconies, arches, arcades, walls and even on the wrought-iron sculptures representing the characters of the nativity scene. The atmosphere immediately becomes romantic, the warm and soothing light of the candles conveys a festive feeling. Children can visit the workshop for making beeswax candles and mothers the museum of embroidered textiles with old looms and balls of hemp, cotton, linen and wool thread. Christmas specialities from the Marche region are served at the table. Visit the site.
