The Ostinata Library

Atlas of Beauty /
MemoryStory, Reading
Ostinata is a neighbourhood library that is free and open to all. It is the emerging tip of a vast movement of block libraries (there are 23 in Milan alone) or built in secret and remote places, places that have the worthy purpose of keeping the sacred fire of reading burning. L'Ostinata is located in a historic street in the city (Via Osti), and has the signature and soft tones of Michele de Lucchi, designer and passionate reader. It is a place that represents the lifelong passion of Paolo Prota Giurleo, former Autogril manager, and a gift to the city that has adopted it. A bright space and 4000 books, texts that change and rotate with perpetual motion. A space for all those who want to stop and read, listen instead of always saying, allowing new and different worlds to penetrate within themselves.
