Tocatì: the International Festival of Street Games

Atlas of Beauty /
Festival, Territorial Development
Playing like it used to be. Tocatì (it's your turn to play) is the festival of ancient games. It is about simple and ancient games, made of a few pieces of wood and a few marks on the ground, that for a few days return to enchant and tell a millenary story; the games of our grandparents and those of our parents: marbles, skittles, poisoned ball. Every year the Festival also brings a guest nation to Verona, which proposes the games of its own tradition, together with folkloristic musical groups and typical dishes. Thousands of spectators stroll through the streets of the city centre during the days of the event, watching the games, listening to the folkloristic musical groups that have followed the players from the various Italian regions or from the guest nation.
