XFarm close agriculture
In San Vito dei Normanni, in the heart of Apulia, XFarm has transformed 50 hectares of land confiscated from organised crime into an agricultural, ecological and social enterprise capable of generating employment, wellbeing for the community and improvement of the ecosystem.
XFarm regenerates the soil, nourishes plants, promotes the circular economy, increases biodiversity, offers quality agricultural products, encourages social and work placement, manages a social garden, organises community events, supports technical training and scientific research, and accompanies agricultural projects promoted by young people in the area.
Many are helping to build an original rural hub that aims to support local development in the Alto Salento. XFARM Agricoltura prossima is a project of the social cooperative Qualcosa di Diverso born within the experience of the Laboratorio Urbano ExFadda in San Vito dei Normanni.
