Nathalie Du Pasquier Mind the gap ph Piercarlo Quecchia DSL Studio DSC4543

Art in motion. As part of Subbrixia, the project promoted to enhance the Brescia metro stations with contemporary art, the new installation by French designer Natalie du Pasquier, one of the founders of Memphis, for the Vittoria station. The artist has invented a way to invite people to look at an otherwise anonymous and transitory place with different eyes. A mosaic of tiles builds a geometric and colourful fabric on the walls and stairs, with strong and intense colours. The ceramic tile, a functional element typical of many subways in the world, becomes in this case a peculiar and distinctive element, with a strong personality. The intervention is entitled "mind the gap" as if to say that it is always better to look at what you are doing and was realised in collaboration with the ceramics company Mutina, which has always been committed to cultivating a virtuous relationship with contemporary art.
